Soldiers fund in Riga, Latvia

Military Archaeology Legenda (https://www.legenda-archaeology.com/) is an organization that search´s the battlefields of Latvia for missing soldiers from WW1 and WW2. Their aim is to search, recover and identify Russian and German soldiers from both conflicts.

5th of June the searched for missed soldiers in a forest. Together with a german colleague they found the soldier LUDVIGS LUDVIĶIS BLAKSONS from 8. Daugavpils foot as a regimental sergeant.

He was born an 4th of April of 1887 in Kemeri. During the First World War he served in the 11th Finnish Rifle. In 1919 he joined the Latvian army and participated in the battles against the Bermontians.

Soldier BLAKSONS

3th of November 1919 on the meadows of Spilve, BLAKSONS bypassed the enemies with his unit and forced them to retreat. One day after that event the enemies grenade was torn near Bolderāja and BLAKSONS died. He was buried near Kleisti Manor.

They wanted to find him because Military Archaeology Legenda is a member of the Brethren´s Cemetery Committee and they already talked a lot about him.

The soldier has been detected with our Tero Vido 3D System and our Software showed the position of the soldier very accurate.
